In 2014 Wilsons celebrity made its away over the pond in a more prominent way when she agreed to star on Showtimes The Affair as Alison Lockhart a troubled young woman who has a past of dark who falls for a married man named Noah Solloway. The show that also stars Maura Tierney as well as Joshua Jackson was a hit for both critics and viewers alike and won Wilson an award of a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Television Series Drama in 2015. Wilson stated in British Vogue: "I love the fact that I am able to play characters with two different perspectives." Noah sees Alison as this confident reckless and sexy model of herself. She sees her own self in a completely different light. In the inner Alison isn't confident and is looking to be a part of the background. In addition, she said that she does not believe America is morally skewed. In 2018, Wilson quit her show in the midst of the shock of many fans but she was not clear on other details.
